Michael Maskery, Ph.D.

Senior Patent Agent

Michael Maskery’s practice focuses on the patent drafting, prosecution and strategy in a variety of technology fields, including wireless and wired networks, communication and control systems, electronics, and computer-related technologies. Michael’s expertise extends to software and firmware design and computer automated systems as well as the electrical and mechanical arts.  Michael also conducts and coordinates prior art searches and performs patent analysis for validity, infringement, and due diligence cases.

Michael’s doctoral work focused on the analysis and design of decentralized, wireless-enabled systems with applications in the areas of wireless sensor networks, defence, and radio spectrum access. Michael has also worked to develop active queue management algorithms for TCP data networks, and has previously worked as a Protection and Control Engineer and a Test Engineer.  Michael has co-authored several journal articles, book chapters, and has presented his work at various international conferences.

Michael splits his time between Halifax, Ottawa and Vancouver based clients.
