Maxwell Wong
Articling Student
Maxwell is an articling student at MBM’s Ottawa office.
He graduated with an Economics Degree from the University of Calgary in 2007 and later went to the University of Wyoming to complete his Petroleum Engineering Degree. At the University of Wyoming, Maxwell was invited to join Tau Beta Pi (The Engineering Honor Society) and was involved in Tau Beta Pi’s executive committees and tutoring program. Additionally, Maxwell was an active member of the Society of Petroleum Engineering (“SPE”) executive committee and the University of Wyoming’s Joint Engineering Council.
In 2016, Maxwell went to the University of New Brunswick (“UNB”) where he completed his joint JD-MBA degree. During his time at UNB, he was a member of the executive committees of the MBA Society and the Graduate Student Society. Maxwell won the Process Management Award at UNB Law’s Annual International Negotiation Round. During the summer, Maxwell worked at the Office of the Child, Youth and Senior Advocate of New Brunswick.
Maxwell is working towards becoming a Patent Agent. He is passionate about innovation and had the privilege of interacting with many innovative people throughout his school years and professional career, from professional engineers with decades of work and research experience to young entrepreneurs hoping to build their business on a bright new idea. Maxwell has found inspiration from these creative individuals and a passion for the intellectual property field.
At MBM, Maxwell is assisting MBM professionals with various clients’ intellectual property matters. Additionally, he has assisted in litigation matters in copyright, trademarks, patents and industrial designs.
In his free time Maxwell enjoys socializing with his fellow litigators and non-litigators during card and board games. He is also an avid hiker and enjoys biking.
