Mariya Pritchard

Patent Agent Trainee

Mariya joined MBM in December 2021 as a Patent Agent Trainee based in our Ottawa office. Mariya works closely with clients across Canada and associates around the world, leveraging her academic and research experience as well as technical writing skills to help clients protect their intellectual property specifically with patents. Her methodology is to work collaboratively with inventors to creatively capture the novelty of their invention when drafting their patents, then apply her legal expertise to provide the broadest protection possible.

Mariya’s practice focuses on drafting and prosecuting Canadian, US and PCT patent applications in various technical fields including telecommunications, computer and IT applications with a specialty in photonics, wireless technologies and electronics.

Mariya draws expertise from her extensive academic experience in Photonics, Nanofabrication, Materials Science and industry experience in Aggregate Materials Processing. In addition, Mariya specializes in macro, micro and nanofabrication, semiconductor technology and applications, bioengineering and microfluidics.

In her spare time, Mariya loves to garden and is a hobby-farming enthusiast. She also enjoys nature-themed photography and watercolour painting.
