Kimberley Baillie

Trademark Agent

Kimberley joined MBM in May 2023. She is a registered Canadian Trademark Agent with over 20 years of experience in the field of trademark law in Canada and worldwide.

Her practice includes representing clients in trademark clearance, filing, and prosecution, as well as opposition and cancellation proceedings before the Canadian Intellectual Property Office (CIPO). She liaises with CIPO on their Goods and Services Manual. Kimberley also has limited recognition to represent Canadians in trademark matters before the United States Patent and Trademarks Office (USPTO).

She has extensive experience in Nice Classification. She attends the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) Committee of Experts for the Intellectual Property Institute of Canada (IPIC), and in 2015, won a Sector Head Merit Award for her work at CIPO, contributing to the adoption of Nice Classification in Canada, as well as for Canada’s participation in joining TMClass with the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO).

Kimberley has written several articles on the topic of Nice Classification. She has also given several presentations on a variety of trademark topics to Herzing College, the Business Development Bank of Canada and other IPIC members, as well as client seminars.
