My Background and Focus
I joined MBM’s finance and billings team in June 2025 as a Client Finance Specialist. My responsibilities include working with MBM’s professionals and paralegals to process monthly billings and ensure that the invoices are sent out to our clients in a timely and accurate manner. I also assist with collections of accounts receivable. I really enjoy the data analysis part of the job, where I use graphical tools, record billing trends and analyze statistics of my assigned billing portfolio. I have found this very useful when having to deal with such a large volume of invoices. I also really appreciate the collaborative nature of my position. It may appear from an outside perspective that billing is a solitary affair, however, we do a great deal of collaboration within and outside our department. I often find myself conferring with paralegals and client managers regarding a specific situation that requires their input. And within my department, my fellow billers are also great at lending an eye to a tricky bill that might arise. As we deal with all IP matters, including litigation, we see all kinds of challenging billing scenarios pop up!
Regarding my education, I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Fundamentals and Methodology of Education from the University of USILACS in Florida, and I also obtained a TESOL certification for teaching English as a foreign language.
Before joining MBM, I spent a significant portion of my career as an educator with nearly a decade of experience in the education industry, particularly in ESL, teaching English in China. My education, together with my experience running my own tutoring company, where I wore many hats as a business owner, including managing accounting for my business, has enabled me to develop strong communication, problem-solving, organizational and financial management skills.
My Approach
I think maintaining a positive attitude is very important to me. Whether it is at work or in my personal life, while being positive won’t guarantee I will succeed, having a negative one will guarantee I won’t!

My life outside of work
In my free time, I enjoy cooking, especially with my wife. It is not only fun, but we always end up with a great meal! I also have a passion for all things British. Whether it’s reading literary classics or watching period pieces, I am a true Anglophile. For me, relaxation is a good home-cooked meal and a great BBC series like “As Time Goes By”, “All Creatures Great and Small”. I also enjoy reading Jane Austin novels like Sense and Sensibility, Emma, and Pride and Prejudice and watching TV or movie adaptations of her novels.
