My Background and Focus
Dilip has been active in the patent field since graduating from University in 2000. Dilip qualified as a Patent Agent in Canada on the 2002 Patent Agent Exams and focused on drafting and prosecution of patent applications in a variety of technical fields.
In 2009, Dilip left private practice and spent the next 11 years practicing as an in-house patent agent for two different major telecommunications companies. During this time, Dilip developed a number of patent portfolios in the wireless communications space as well as in advanced networking. Patent Portfolio management with an eye on building licensable and enforceable patent portfolios, as well as management of patent drafting and prosecution in many jurisdictions, formed a large part of his responsibilities.
In 2020, Dilip returned to private practice, exclusively representing Canadian innovators looking to build patent portfolios with cost-effective strategies. In this endeavour, Dilip represented clients in various fields, including advanced wireless networking, medical devices, mechanical tools, and others.
At MBM, Dilip brings his experience in patent drafting, developing patent strategies for both prosecution and enforcement, direct patent prosecution, and invention mining. He looks forward to bringing his unique set of skills to any matter that you need assistance with.
