My Background and Focus

Michele joined MBM’s Finance Department in October 2004 as a Client Finance Specialist and moved into a supervisory role in 2012. Michele leads the billing team. Her responsibilities include working with professionals and paralegals to process monthly billings and accounts receivables, as well as generating financial reports for the Management Committee. Michele is our resident billing system expert and is responsible for its setup and maintenance as well as the training of all new finance employees. Prior to joining MBM, Michele worked in the accounting department of a large Canadian insurance company for 7 years before taking time off to raise her children.

My life outside of work

Now that our kids are older, my husband and I love to travel, and cruises are our preferred way! Norwegian is our preferred cruise line, so every January, we take off for a week or two and sail to somewhere warm and beautiful, like the Mediterranean. Hawaii has been at the top of our bucket list, so hopefully, at some point in the near future, there will be a cruise or a vacation on those beautiful Hawaiian Islands.

Our exciting new side project is building our cottage in western Quebec. We are doing all the work ourselves, clearing trees, building docks, sheds, and eventually a beautiful cottage. It will take some time to complete, but when it’s done, it will be the perfect place to hang out with family and friends on weekends all year round.

I love golf, so my husband and I plan get-togethers on the golf course. It’s such a good social activity. And, of course, skiing in Canada is a must. I love both downhill and cross-country skiing. It’s good exercise and an opportunity to appreciate the Ottawa/Canada outdoors!
