My life outside of work
I love being busy, so my life outside of the office is full of people and activities that bring me joy. I am very dedicated to community service, a passion my grandparents instilled in me as a young child. I work on several personal charitable projects, helping new immigrants and single moms with food and supplies. I am always looking for new ways to source donations and distribute food and personal care packages to those in need.
I love to travel, seeing new counties, experiencing different cultures and food is a beautiful thing. I have been to 13 countries, and so far, my favourite is Italy. My daughter and I travelled through Italy and fell in love with the culture, food, kind and proud Italian people, and, of course, the fabulous fashion! Greece and Egypt are on my to-visit list next, each with their unique culture, architecture and food; hopefully, I will be able to plan these trips soon.
At home, I am grounded by my love of gardening and all it provides. If you come over for dinner, you will definitely have at least one dish with my fresh garden vegetables: green beans, peppers, zucchini, snow peas, tomatoes, and lettuce. The table will always have a vase of my garden flowers (but you need to come in the summer; cold Canadian winters don’t allow for too much gardening in the winter).
I know most people will laugh when I tell them I collect stamps because that isn’t the trendiest hobby, but my uncle gave me his enormous stamp collection, and I cherish it. I was able to add to it and grow it over the years, using the stamps we received from our wonderful foreign associates. So please feel free to send me snail mail – I love watching my stamp collection grow!
